The mission of Oppenheimer’s Equity Research department is to provide thoughtful, insightful and differentiated research so that our clients can make informed investment decisions. We consist of 37 senior research analysts covering approximately 670 companies across all of the major investing sectors. Our coverage encompasses roughly 60% of the S&P 500 by market cap, and is evenly balanced among large-, mid-, and small-cap companies. As a result, Oppenheimer Equity Research continues to be an important product for our retail, institutional, and corporate clients.

William Bird
Title:Director of Research, Head of Thematic Research
Bill Bird joined Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in 2023. He has more than 32 years of investment experience. Bill was previously Head of Thematic Research at TD Cowen. Prior to that, he served as a strategy consultant to tech, media, and telecom companies for four years. Before that, Bill was a research analyst for a combined 20 years at Citi, BofA Merrill, and Lazard. He also served as a buyside generalist at Steinberg Asset Management. Prior to his career in equity research, Bill was a fixed income product manager at Merrill Lynch. Bill received a B.A. in American History from Harvard and an MBA from Duke’s Fuqua School of Business.

Susan Lee
Title:Associate Director of Research
Susan Lee joined Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in July 2024. She has held senior management roles across Americas research operations for nearly 20 years, including Credit Suisse, Barclays, and Lehman Brothers. Susan has extensive experience with creating digital and thematic research products, mentoring and developing research associates, spearheading technology initiatives, and managing compliance/risks and controls. Prior to that, Susan held various roles in Equity Research at RBC Capital Markets and Robertson Stephens. Earlier in her career, she worked as an equity analyst covering Leisure Services at CIBC Oppenheimer and as a generalist covering Paper and Forest Products, Railroads, and Publishing at Brown Brothers Harriman. Susan graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northeastern University, earning a BSBA with a dual concentration in Finance and Accounting.
